A French delegation comprising of 65 delegates including Assistant du Chef de La Mission Economine de Bombay paid visit to GJEPC on February 21, 2006. They were welcomed by Sanjay Kothari-Convener, PM & BD Committee, GJEPC and Navin Mehta-Vice Chairman GJEPC.
Navin Mehta made a presentation including ‘India As First Choice’ promotional CD to the delegation explaining in detail the level of growth of Indian Gems & Jewellery Industry and scope of their investment in this sector in India. Delegates expressed their keen interest and were amazed to see development of India in this sector including full fledged state-of-art training facilities available at IIGJ Mumbai.
Delegates were invited to participate in IIJS in May. “We want France to be reflected in our export chart of GJEPC next year, said Kothari. The delegates were keen on another visit to India to explore areas of mutual co-operation in Gems & Jewellery Sector.
