Within the first five months of 2008, Endiama generated a total output of around 2.98 million carats of diamonds from the formal sector and 69,000 carats from the artisanal sector. A cumulative sale of both these amounted to 3.35 million carats of diamonds for $525 million, for the Angola-state owned mining company. %% For 2009, the company has projected an increase in its production by 10 percent to 10.5 million carats, as it anticipates a thrust of increased demand from Asia and of new discoveries at its mines.
