Suashish Diamonds has proposed to set up a manufacturing unit at Mumbai’s upcoming Santacruz Electronic Export Processing Zone (SEEPZ), reports the Economic Times. The 16,000-sq-ft jewellery manufacturing unit is expected to go on stream in August 2008. %% This new facility will scale the company’s present jewellery manufacturing capacity to 1.5 million pieces, a 50 per cent increase. Of the total Rs.150 crore ($35 million), which the company earmarked, around Rs.82 crore ($19 million) is being invested in the unit. The unit is expected to yield a turnover of Rs.180 crore ($41.8 million) in one operational year.
