Gaborone, Botswana; June 4, 2008 : The Diamond Trading Company Botswana is holding its second ever sale of rough diamonds for a week from June 2, the Botswanan newspaper Mmegi reported. Much like the parent DTC, the Botswana version will hold 10 Sights a year.
%%The first Sight, which was held from April 28, was successful, said DTC Botswana Corporate Communications & Public Affairs Manager- Kago Mmopi, who did not disclose how much diamond rough was sold. He said the goal is to help develop the Botswana diamond polishing industry.
%%It is estimated that DTC Botswana, a 50-50 joint venture between De Beers and the country’s government, will sell US$375 million worth of diamond this year.
