Unbranded precious metal jewellery to attract excise duty of 1%

Nakshatra, the diamond jewellery brand from the stable of Gitanjali Group, recently underwent a change in its branding. Its ambassadress, so far Aishwarya Rai, has been replaced with Indian film actress Katrina Kaif. %% “Kaif is been believed to imbibe the brand’s personality of youth, glamour, and freshness, as also described by the Nakshatra target audience. Aishwarya has been representing the brand for the past eight years. %% The brand has been associated with the Diamond Trading Company during its inception and bought over by the Gitanjali Group for around $24 million.
