For enthusiasts of rubies, the Thai Gem and Jewelry Traders Association (TGJTA) is publishing a book - ‘Ruby Guide’. The Guide will illustrate the trade in rubies in a more comprehensible and transparent manner and is a valuable read for both the retailer and end-consumer. %% TGJTA intends to present their Guide for discussion and approval at CIBJO’s 2009 Congress slated in Macau, and has planned to release it in English, Chinese, Arabic and Russian. %% Contents will concentrate on disclosing the exact characteristic of each stone to the downstream markets, and with complete information to the consumer about whether the gemstones are treated or not, and if so, about the nature and extent of the modifications. The TGJTA recently unveiled the first draft of the Guide.
