Donna Karan, the world renowned fashion stylist has been sued by Cartier, for misusing the word ‘Tank’. According to Cartier, the company has a copyright for the word – used as a brand name for watches that were first designed by Louis Cartier. %% The jeweller filed a lawsuit in federal court. The lawyers of cartier stated in the lawsuit that this use of the word by Donna Karan disregarded Cartier’s rights. The suit claimed that Donna Karan used the name ‘Tank’ for the watches in a previous dispute, but stopped in 2001 when she received a cease and desist letter.
