The Israel Diamond Pavilion at the Hong Kong Jewellery & Watch Fair 2008 will house more than 50 Israeli diamond manufacturers and exporters, 40 of which will exhibit latest products in polished diamond and diamond jewellery categories. The Israel Diamond Institute Group of Companies (IDI) has been actively showcasing at the fair each year, as it views Asian markets to be the foremost growing areas for the diamond and jewellery industry. %% For this reason, IDI has been focusing marketing efforts on Hong Kong, China and other Asian markets. Eli Avidar, IDI Managing Director, said "We opened IDI Asia Pacific, our office in Hong Kong, in mid-2007 just for this reason. The office serves Israeli diamantaires seeking business ties in Hong Kong and other Asian markets, and serves as an important liaison with the local business community." To emphasise the keenness of Israeli companies to trade with Hong Kong industries, the new Israeli Consul-General in Hong Kong Mr. Amikam Levy will pay an official visit to the Israel Diamond Pavilion, escorted by Alissa Goren, IDI Deputy Managing Director and CMO. Also, IDI will distribute information brochure published in Chinese, at the pavilion. The brochure will explain the role of the Israel Diamond Industry, to the Chinese jewellery industry. The Israel Diamond Pavilion is located in Expo Drive Hall in the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Center, with additional Israeli companies exhibiting throughout the show. %% Avidar added that Israel's diamond trade with Hong Kong indicates 35 percent rise during the first half of 2008.
