Jr Miner Tamija Awaits CAR Approval for Exploration

JAPAN’S polished diamond imports declined by 7.7% in February, to $80.81 million in value, while increasing by 2% to198,934 carats in volume, signifying cheaper diamond imports, based on data released by Japan’s Jewelry Trade Center Inc. In the same month, the price per carat declined by 6.4% to $406. %% By value, India accounted for 44.4% of Japan’s total polished diamond imports at $35.87 million. In terms of volume, India supplied 80.6% or 160,430 carats. Polished diamond imports from the US grew by 110.1% to $3.33 million, while imports from China increased by 34.8% to $376,000. %% For the year-to-date, Japan’s polished diamond imports declined by 1.7% to $192.66 million, while in terms of volume, polished diamond imports increased by 1.8% to 456,399 carats.
