GJF's Bachhraj Bamalwa's view on the budget

Nothing substantial in the Union Budget 2013-14 for gem and jewellery industry, says Bachhraj Bamalwa, Chairman, GJF. But he expects the import duty to be reduced in the coming days.

In a joint effort, fine-jewellery buyer Circa and online retailer for luxury clothing and accessories - Bluefly will be selling rare and vintage pieces held by consumers and bought from popular jewellery houses, onto website – Bluefly.com. %% Circa is reputed for its purchase of fine jewellery, which it does at consumer level. In the venture, the jewellery purchased by Circa will be made available for viewing on Bluefly.com. The fine-jewellery would be placing jewellery pieces from renowned houses like Bulgari, Cartier, Tiffany and Co. and Van Cleef and Arpels. Consumers can place orders on the phone, with Bluefly. %% Apart from this online venture, the two entities are preparing to introduce "Circa at Bluefly’, through which the Circa jewellery-buying service will be made available on Bluefly.com.
