'10 JEWEL' opens showroom in Mumbai

This is the first store from the retail chain in Mumbai, and it is fourth in the country.

The month of June showed a lesser drop in the polished diamond trade of the U.S. over the same month last year. Imports of polished diamonds dipped by 38 percent to $982 million, and exports decreased by 49 percent to $966 million. The net polished diamond account stood at $16 million, which did show some improvement over the negative $287 million in June 2008. % % The rough diamond account showed a 49 percent drop in imports to $48 million, but exports surged 105 percent to $43 million. The net rough diamond imports valued at $5 million. %% Through the span of six months from January-June period, the imports of polished diamonds decreased by 48 percent to $5.4 billion, and exports of polished diamonds slipped by 46 percent to $4.2 billion. Rough imports valued to $132 million after a 71 percent fall in the said six months and rough exports dipped 52 percent to $101 million.
