India’s cut and polished diamond exports for June fell 22% to $783.3 million from the same month last year, according to interim data from Indias Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC).%%In carat terms, Indias total cut and polished diamond exports plunged 30% to 2.8 million carats. For the January-June period, polished diamond exports fell 13% to $5.5 billion, although they rose 9% in weight to 27.7 million carats.%%Meanwhile, cut and polished diamond imports in June plummeted by 63% to $121.4 million, while rough diamond imports fell 22% to $693.9 million. In carat terms, rough diamond imports fell 23% in June to 13.3 million carats. For the first half of the year, rough diamond imports, fell 16% to $3.8 billion, and in carat terms recorded a 22% fall to 77.8 million carats
