Samit Bhatta, Managing Director (India) for International Diamond Laboratories (IDL), has been included into the core committee of FICCI Gems and Jewellery Committee. For the current year, the Committee Chairman is Mr. Mehul Choksi, Chairman and Managing Director, Gitanjali Group; while its Co- chairman is Mr. Prasad Kapre, Managing Director, Blue Skies Business Management Group. %% Samit Bhatta will handle responsibilities of furthering FICCI Gems and Jewellery Committee’s vision of harnessing a growth oriented future for India’s gem and jewellery sector. His prior work portfolio includes serving as the General Manager (Sales and Marketing) of Damas LLC in Dubai and National Sales and Marketing Manager of Diamond Promotion Service, DTC (a De Beers group company) in India. %% FICCI is an active interface between the Government and the industry. The FICCI Gems and Jewellery Committee is a platform for the industry to voice their concerns and support industry activities for its overall development. It is planning an international conference during January 2010 in Mumbai, which would focus on Transformation of the Gems and Jewellery industry in India.
