Preparing for the 2010 CIBJO Congress slated in Munich, Germany, on February 19, various commissions of CIBJO are releasing their annual reports. The first report has come in from the Marketing and Education Commission. It is a practice of the CIBJO commissions to release annual reports between CIBJO congresses, in which they detail the work undertaken in the year and future goals. The commissions work towards developing a particular industry sector, reports say. %% The Marketing and Education Commission’s report contains a write-up by the commission’s president Jonathan Kendall, Executive Director of De Beers Group Marketing, stating the successful completion of The Retailers Reference Guide: Diamonds, Colored Gemstones, Pearls and Precious Metals, over two years. %% Kendall mentioned that the report was the outcome of a number of people putting in their hard work to deliver a book that stands to benefit the jewellery trade at every level, reports say. The book is a product of CIBJO commissions jointly working in a team. %% Reports are also soon expected from Diamond, Coloured Stone, Gemmological, Pearl and Precious Metals commissions, reports say.
