India’s gem and jewellery exports in March 2010 amounted to US$ 2,859.72 million, rising by 61.26 percent, from US$ 1,773.37 million worth of gem and jewellery exports in March 2009, reports say. Cut and polished (C&P) diamond exports amounted to US$ 1,798.02 million in March 2010, indicating a 62.40 percent growth from US$ 1,107.14 million worth of exports in March 2009, as reported. Gold jewellery exports were worth US$ 878.87 million increasing by 51.44 percent from US$ 580.33 million worth of exports in March 2009, reports add. Coloured gemstone exports stood at US$ 20.04 million in March this year, rising by 15.24 percent from US$ 17.39 million worth of exports in March 2009, reports say.
