The United States Kimberley Process Authority (USKPA) has launched a website, bearing the url as: www.uskpa.org. The website informs on the procedure to become a USKPA licensee authorised to use US KP certificates to export rough diamonds from the United States. It also is designed to enable present licensees to efficiently manage their Kimberley Process Certificates, to ensure compliance with appropriate U.S. legislation and regulations. %% The website benefits USKPA licensees, and the US Government agencies through its quicker information processing ability, more efficient record keeping and reduction in paperwork. The website will facilitate U.S. Kimberley Process licensing, US Kimberley Process Certificate issuance and record keeping for US Government compliance. %% According to Mark Gershburg, a member of USKPA Board and CEO of Gemological Science International (GSI): “We believe that this website is the first of its kind in the world and may serve as a model of trade and government cooperation in the fight to eradicate conflict diamonds.” Mr. Gershburg together with Dr. Martin Hochbaum, managing director of the DDC and Cecilia Gardner, President and CEO of JVC, serve on the USKPA Board of Directors. %% The USKPA website was created with the support and assistance of Gemological Science International (GSI), a gemological organization headquartered in New York City. The United States Kimberley Process Authority (USKPA) is a not for profit trade association formed for the purpose of administering and controlling the usage of US Kimberley Process certificates for the export of rough diamonds from the USA.
