From 1 June, 2010, the {{Gemological Institute of America (GIA)}} has begun offering a new, optional service on its Colored Diamond Grading Report and Colored Diamond Identification and Origin Report. Under this, a color image of the diamond can be included on the report by request for an additional fee of US $50. %% “This new offering will improve communications with colored diamonds described in the reports and allow for more efficient trading,” said Tom Moses, Senior Vice President of the GIA Laboratory and Research. “It will serve the trade and add an additional layer of reassurance for the final purchaser of a diamond, which is the ultimate goal of our mission to protect the public trust.”
