At the end of the year closing June 30, 2010, Petra Diamonds earned net profit worth $70.2 million, as compared to a net loss of $89 million in the previous year. The company attributes this to the recovery in rough diamond prices, which helped its revenues to rise. Revenues increased 136 percent to $163.7 million in the said year, in which it sold the 507 carat Cullinan Heritage for $35.3 million. Around 57 percent of the sales were from the Cullinan mine. %% In the period since June, sales valued $40 million for 278,436 carats, with an average $143 per carat. %% Group production increased 6 percent to 1.164 million carats.
