The month of September 2010 saw a rise in polished diamond trade for the U.S. but saw a dip in rough diamond imports. The said polished diamond imports rose 19 percent to $1.47 billion and exports also by 19 percent to $1.24 billion. This has brought the net polished imports for the month to rise by 20 percent to $230 million, reports say. %% Imports of roughs decreased by 23 percent to $17 million and exports by 52 percent to $26 million. The rough deficit was worth $9 million as compared to the net rough imports of $5 million in the same month last year. Given these figures, net polished and rough imports increased 13 percent to $221 million.
