Tara Jewels, a renowned Indian jewellery exporter, plans expanding in the domestic market by opening 20 additional self-owned showrooms, by this year. The company plans expansions in northern and western markets, and then further to south and east. At present Tara Jewels owns 31 stores in 19 cities. %% The company proposes to raise an initial publics offering (IPO) worth Rs 200 crore, to fund its expansion. The IPO launch process is already in motion, with approvals already secured from Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and a draft red herring prospectus filed with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). %% Last year, the company’s jewellery production, which includes fashion, bridal and handmade bespoke jewellery was 2,562.91 kg in FY 10.
