Kalyan Jewellers' launches its flagship showroom in Chennai

It is Kalyan Jewellers' 50th showroom in South India and 78th store globally.

The Indian Institute of Gems and Jewellery Jaipur celebrated its Annual Awards function on 13th June 2011. Chief Guest for the function Shri Rajendra Pareek, Hon’able Minister for Industries, Govt. of Rajasthan and the Guest of Honour Shri Shyam Sunder Khatoria, industrialist and philanthropist distributed certificates & awards to the winners of the competition “Jewels of Rajasthan 2010” and the graduating students of IIGJ, with outstanding performance in Academics. The award for the best student for the year 2010, sponsored by Rajasthan Chamber of Commerce & Industries was awarded to Ms. Shobhika Periwal by Shri K. L. Jain, Honorary Secretary (RCCI). %% Shri Pareek visited the institute and appreciated the infrastructure and the technical potency that IIGJ Jaipur possesses. He also appreciated the efforts and initiatives established by the institute in training students in jewellery design & manufacturing, as well as training of craftsmen in jewellery manufacturing and various other skill development programs. Shri Rajeev Jain, hon’able chairman of Gems & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) and hon’able board member of IIGJ, also expressed that such developmental initiatives for Gems & Jewellery industry will be undertaken through the medium of IIGJ. With the growth of Indian economy and increase of exports in Gems & Jewellery by 25% annually, he assured, there will be abundant scope in the jewellery sector and huge skilled work force will be required in the years to come. %% Shri Pareek and Shri Khatoria also congratulated IIGJ Jaipur for its successful 12th year of the competition “Jewels of Rajasthan”. They also presented awards to Ms. Nitasha Sharma and Mr. Dushyant Dave for qualifying for the first and second position respectively at the national level. %% Ms. Gunjan Kala was awarded for the first position at state level and Ms. Megha bhangla was awarded first prize under the category of jewellery accessory. The occasion was enlightened by the presence of the sponsors for the competition, Bhuramal Rajmal Surana Mfrs. JLN Marg and Kundan- Meena Promotion group Jaipur Jewellery Show. The new poster for the design competition “Jewels of Rajasthan 2011” was released by the Hon’able minister at this occasion. Topic of the competition for the year 2011 is “vibrant colors”. The occasion was concluded with the Vote of Thanks from Shri Vijay Chordia, hon’rary secretary IIGJ Jaipur. %%
