The 38th edition of the Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) award function will be held in the diamond city of Surat on October 11, 2011.%% This is the third time that the world’s largest diamond cutting and polishing centre will play host to the annual awards. Earlier the awards functions were organized in 1995 and 2002 in Surat.%% Apart from the who’s who of the gems and jewellery industry, the 2011 award night will witness the eminent presence of the Gujarat Chief Minister, Narendra Modi, as the chief guest for the evening.%% Last year’s annual awards were held in the city of Mumbai.%%
