In a move to leverage the gem and jewellery trade in the Indian state of Gujarat, jewellers of the state have formed a common representative apex body under the proposed name of Gujarat Jewellery Association (GJA). The GJA will include all city and district level jewellery associations.%% As a representative body, the GJA will be a common platform to address trade issues, present them to the government and non-government bodies, and promote the state’s gem and jewellery trade to be competitive with global standards. It will also support the trade through platforms like exhibitions, shows, seminars.%% The complete formation of the GJA yet awaits the completion of some formalities.%%
