The International Gemological Institute (IGI) announced “The IGI D-Show”, a three day buyer–seller knowledge meet in Kolkata. Following the success and response from retailers in Andhra Pradesh and North India, the show is being organised to facilitate easier communication within the market, for the East Indian retailers of Kolkata. This initiative is being held between 21 November to 23 November 2013 at ITC Sonar Bangla.%% This three-day event is being attended by India's most renowned jewellery and diamond manufacturers showcasing their exquisite designs and diamond inventories for the retailers of the East. The meetings were successfully conducted on day 1. The knowledge fair had an exclusive seminar for participants on artificial diamonds, which offered insights on vital information jewellers should keep in mind while buying and selling. At the end of day 1, for the gala dinner, Mr Bachraj Bamalwa of Nemichand Bamalwa & Sons, Mr Jaisukh Parekh of Ramesh Chandra Parekh Jewels, Mr Prabir Kumar Sen of B.C. Sen and Mr Ashok Bengani - President of Kolkata Gems & Jewellery Association graced the Gala nite event on 21 November. IGI took this opportunity to felicitate the dignatories for their contribution and experience of years in the development and promotion of gems and jewellery in East India.%% Manufacturers from across the country were present for the event Prominent among these were A'Star Jewellery, Anaya Jewels, Binnys Designer Diamond Jewellery, Design Creation, HVKJewels, Hari Prasad Bal Krishna Jewels Pvt Lts,Jewel Goldie (India),Kiran Jewels, Sheetal Jewellery House, Glitter Jewels, Sanghvi Star Retail Pvt Ltd, Uma Ornaments, Sumona Jewels, Ashi Jewellery Pvt Ltd, Hansini, Mani Jewels, K.P. Sanghavi Jewels. Diamond World participated with IGI in the capacity of Media Partner and met with the manufacturers, talking about the show and their experience with the IGI D-Show.%% Day 2 includes interactions between manufacturers and retailers, exchanging insights on markets, new orders and partnerships.
