DAMAS, the UAE’s leading jewellery retailer, has announced a partnership with Flemingo International to enter the Indian duty free market. Damas plans to introduce in-house gold jewellery and luxury watch brands at three Indian international airports – Jaipur, Trivandrum and Chennai as a part of its expansion plans in India.%%The tie-up with Flemingo International, which owns a chain of duty-free shops at Indian airports, will allow Damas to offer in-house gold jewellery brands like Harmony and Legacy, and the Solitaire diamond brand. The aim is to cash in on the increase in the number of budget airlines and the privatisation of airports for India is witnessing a rise in air passenger traffic and duty free shops are doing brisk business according to Damas managing director Tawhid Abdullah.
