THE government of Liberia said in a release that the computer database system for capturing rough diamond statistics will be installed this year, deeming it a major step towards compliance with the Kimberley Process, which could help lift a UN ban on its diamond exports according to reports.%%Liberia’s ministry of lands, mines and energy told the cabinet that it has the necessary tools to document transactions and establish a chain of custody for diamonds from the time they are mined right up to the point they are exported.
