The Jewelers of America (JA) trade show 2007, will be used by the Gemological Institute of America’s (GIA) New York lab, as a platform to provide priority laboratory services to its attendees. The lab would accept diamonds, pearls or colored stones before, during and after the trade show which is slated between July 29 - August 1, in New York.
The priority service is signified by the fact that if the products are submitted by Thursday they would be ready for pick-up by Tuesday. According to Tom Moses, senior vice president, GIA Laboratory and Research, the lab would revise the work hours at its New York Laboratory, beginning Thursday, July 26 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. While on Friday, it will adopt its regular hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and again extend hours on Monday and Tuesday (July 30 and 31) from 8:00 a.m. till 6:30 p.m.
Moses pointed out that the Lab will cater to work submitted even at the end of the show on Monday or Tuesday, again on priority, and ship it to its owners by their preferred shipping method.
