Govt. of Angola decides to purchase diamonds locally

The initiative will help boost liquidity of local diamond companies

The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) is launching a new GIA Laboratory online service, to be known as “My Laboratory” on June 4, 2007. This service will accommodate both diamond and colored stone customers.%%Available from GIA’s secure web portal, “My GIA,” My Laboratory customers can get secure, anytime (24/7) access to their GIA Laboratory accounts to check the current status of their items.%%Diamond customers may view results or request additional services. These additional services may include rechecks or inscriptions.%%Tom Moses, senior vice president – GIA Research and Laboratory, said, “We hope this will be a valuable tool for customers that will help streamline and expedite their workflow. We believe people will appreciate being able to monitor their items as they move through the GIA system via My Laboratory. We look forward to adding many more features in the coming months to further enhance this service.”%%This online service is secure and confidential – only the client or the client’s designated company representatives can view, access, or take action on his or her items.
