Italy which hosts various fairs related to gold and gold jewellery, recently witnessed a change in the names to portray a new dimension to the meaning of the fairs. The Italian fair ‘Vicenza’ has been renamed as ‘First’. The name was derived to portray the profile of the fair being the first in delivering the best of gold jewellery; both exhibits and business opportunities. It has been sub divided into three individual fairs bearing different names to portray the different moments of “doing fairs”, allowing the top purchasing groups three different chances to meet their varying needs of the gold jewellery market.%%This year was its first edition of the event 'First', which was held between 13 to 20 January. It was host to almost 1600 exhibitors, mostly Italian but some also from around 30 countries. Collections of fine gold jewellery, precious stones, coral and natural and cultivated pearls were exhibited at the fair.%%Post the ‘First’ edition, its sub-events are scheduled to be held. ‘Charm’ would be held from 17 to 21 May, while ‘Choice’ will be held 6th – 10th September. Another event ‘About J’, which is a part of the Vicenza Fair is positioned as the fair for the elite segment of the product – market jewellery production. About J is slated between 2nd to 4th March. It will feature the best of Italian and International Gold Jewellery. Its objective is to provide strong input for the whole sector. It will host 60 Italian brands, 20 International brands, along with 150 top international buyers and 250 Italian buyers. ‘T-Gold’ which is held for machinery and tools for gold jewellery production coincided with ‘First’.
