Rio Tinto's diamond output dips by 54% in Q3

The output comes from three mines -Argyle, Diavik and Murowa Diamonds

India is looking at ties with Canada for its diamond industry. Reports state that India’s minister of state for mines, T. Subbarami Reddy recently held discussions with a visiting Canadian delegation asking for technological support and expertise for exploration and mining of gold and diamonds. It was agreed upon for Indian geo-scientists to be trained in Canada, while Indian miners would be trained in India Canadian mining experts.%%Canada has assured a shipment of helicopters fitted with air-borne technology would reach the Geological Survey of India. According to Reddy, India is geared to recover huge resources of gold and diamonds over the next five years, as the government aims to achieve self-sufficiency in exploration and mining of gold and diamonds.$$The delegation was led by Canadian minister of economic development and trade - Sandra Pupatello.
