HRD Antwerp, Europe’s leading authority in diamond grading and certification, has officially launched its operations at the Bharat Ratnam Mega Common Facility Centre (CFC) in Mumbai.
The collaboration was announced during the ongoing IIJS Premiere 2025, marking a key milestone in enhancing India’s diamond and jewellery manufacturing ecosystem.
The new facility will offer a full spectrum of diamond and jewellery certification services — for both natural and lab-grown diamonds — directly from the heart of Mumbai’s jewellery hub.
Speaking at the inauguration, Ravi Menon, CEO of Bharat Ratnam Mega CFC, said the alliance aligns with the CFC’s vision to provide Indian manufacturers with access to world-class technologies and services. “HRD Antwerp’s presence is a significant value addition to our ecosystem,” he stated.
Tom Neys, Global Marketing, Sales & Education Director, HRD Antwerp, highlighted India’s growing influence in the global diamond sector. “This collaboration brings HRD Antwerp’s legacy of precision grading to a broader network of Indian manufacturers and exporters,” he noted.
Ramakant Mitkar, Managing Director, HRD Antwerp India, added that the facility enhances accessibility for exporters and local clients, especially those in MIDC and surrounding regions. He also emphasised the organisation’s focus on educating consumers on the authenticity of lab-grown jewellery.
The partnership is expected to raise quality standards, improve international competitiveness, and build greater trust in Indian-manufactured diamond jewellery.
