Bharat Diamond Bourse Marks India’s 79th Independence Day with Patriotic Ceremony in Mumbai

The Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB), one of the world’s largest diamond hubs, commemorated India’s 79th Independence Day with a grand ceremony that blended patriotic fervour, cultural pride, and community solidarity.

The celebrations began with stirring patriotic verses, followed by a flag-hoisting ceremony led by Shri Mehul Shah, Vice President of BDB. The event symbolised the triumph of freedom and the diamond industry’s collective commitment to India’s continued growth and resilience.

The occasion was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including Mr. Kobbi Shoshani, Consul General of Israel in Mumbai; Mr. Eko Santoso Junor, Consul – Economy of Indonesia in Mumbai; and Shri Ramlal Ji, National Co-Incharge of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.

BDB’s leadership, including Shri Kiritbhai Bhansali, Managing Committee Member and Chairman of the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), along with other committee members, reaffirmed the institution’s responsibility towards both industry excellence and national progress.

In a gesture of gratitude, BDB extended heartfelt recognition to the Mumbai Police, Mumbai Fire Brigade, and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) for their service, bravery, and discipline in safeguarding the city. Special acknowledgment was also given to Mr. Shirish Inamdar, Consultant – Security & Vigilance, and Mr. Samir Kumar Jha, General Manager – DSFS, for their leadership in organizing the event.

The ceremony concluded with a pledge to uphold the honour of the Tiranga and a reminder that freedom comes with enduring responsibility. The Independence Day celebration at BDB stood as a tribute to national pride, the guardians of Mumbai, and the vision of a stronger, safer India for future generations.
