Mumbai to Host Kimberley Process (KP) Dialogue Forum Under India’s KP Chairmanship

The KP Dialogue Forum will be held in Mumbai on May 10, 2026, bringing together global diamond industry stakeholders to discuss credibility, consumer confidence and compliance across the supply chain.

As part of its chairpersonship agenda, India will host the “Forum on KP Dialogue” on May 10, 2026 at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai. The event will centre around the “3Cs Initiative” — Credibility, Confidence, and Compliance, with participation from global industry leaders, trade organizations and technology companies.

The programme will begin with welcome remarks by Kirit Bhansali, Chairman, Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), followed by opening remarks from Suchindra Misra, KP Chair. A presentation on “Carbon-Neutral Natural Diamonds” will be delivered by Alexey Moiseev, Deputy Finance Minister, Russian Federation.

The session on “Credibility: The Power of Communication in Earning Credibility” will be moderated by Feriel Zerouki, out going Chairperson World Diamond Council (WDC), and feature speakers including Bebe Bakshi Social Media Influencer, James Doran (WDC), Anoop Mehta of GJEPC and Bharat Diamond Bourse, and Colleen Rooney of Signet Jewelers.

Another session, “Confidence: Current State of Market Demand and Consumer Protection”, will be moderated by Russell Mehta, Managing Director, Rosy Blue. Speakers include representatives from Titan Company Limited, GIA India, Forevermark India, De Beers Group, and the Natural Diamond Council (NDC).

The final discussion on “Compliance: Beyond Compliance — From Traceability to Trust” will examine traceability systems and sourcing transparency, with participation from Alrosa, Tracr, Everledger, Sarine Technologies, iTraceiT, and other technology and compliance stakeholders. The forum will conclude with a “Summary and Way Forward” session, to be presented by Saket Kumar, Senior Advisor to the KP Chair and Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

The Kimberley Process (KP), established in 2003, is an international certification mechanism aimed at preventing the trade of conflict diamonds, and ensuring responsible sourcing practices within the global diamond industry. Today, the KP includes governments, industry bodies and civil society organizations working together to strengthen transparency, compliance and consumer confidence across the diamond supply chain.
