Titan-owned jewellery brand plans to expand beyond its traditional sub-?50,000 positioning, targeting higher-ticket diamond and gemstone purchases as it charts its next phase of growth.
Mumbai: CaratLane is looking to broaden its customer base beyond affordable diamond jewellery, with the omnichannel retailer planning to move into higher price points and expand its offering across diamonds, precious and semi-precious stones.
Saumen Bhaumik, Managing Director of CaratLane, said the brand is at an “inflexion point” as customers increasingly seek jewellery at price points of ?1 lakh–?2 lakh, beyond the brand’s traditional focus on products below ?40,000–?50,000.
The expansion aligns with Titan’s broader growth plans for CaratLane. The company is targeting 2.3x growth in revenue and 2.5x growth in EBIT by FY30 from FY26 levels.
CaratLane currently operates more than 380 stores in India and two in the US. It closed FY26 with revenue of ?4,702 crore, up 34% from ?3,501 crore in FY25, while EBIT increased 60% year-on-year to ?466 crore.
The brand has already been widening its price and product architecture. Its 9K gold offering provides a lower entry point, while Shaya Diamond, featuring natural diamonds set in silver, starts at ?5,000. CaratLane has also extended polki from its traditional bridal positioning into everyday and office-wear jewellery.
The move comes as India's organised jewellery sector continues to gain share. According to Motilal Oswal data cited in the report, organised players accounted for around 40–45% of the estimated ?8.5 trillion jewellery market in FY26, compared with 20–25% in FY19.
While physical stores continue to close the majority of sales, digital discovery remains central to CaratLane's customer journey. The company says most customers conduct their product research online before visiting a store to see, try and purchase the jewellery.
CaratLane also exports to 30 countries, with online sales currently driving its international business. While further international store expansion remains a possibility, the company is taking a measured approach amid geopolitical uncertainty in markets such as the US and West Asia.
