Rising gold and silver prices have not weakened demand for traditional Ganeshotsav ornaments in Pune, although buyers have increasingly opted for lighter and smaller pieces to manage costs. Gold prices have reached around Rs 1.55 lakh per 10g, while silver has touched about Rs 2.45 lakh per kg.

Jewellers have reported demand for traditional Ganapati ornaments including mukuts, haars, malas, shawls and dhotis. Vastupal Ranka, director at Ranka Jewellers, said customers were reducing the weight of purchases while retaining traditional designs. He added that some families were also exchanging older pieces for newer designs.

Silver articles have also seen demand, particularly durva, modaks, thalis, lotas, panchpatras, lamps and bowls. Ranka said buyers were choosing lighter versions as silver prices have risen significantly from last year. PNG Jewellers has reported demand for silver mukuts, haars, kalash, auspicious ornaments, durva, hibiscus flowers and silver mice, with prices starting at around Rs 500 and varying by weight and craftsmanship.

Jewellers are responding with lightweight construction, electroforming and customised pieces that allow buyers to control weight and cost. Gold Ganapati idols weighing 3–5 grams are also available, indicating a shift towards smaller-ticket festive purchases.
