CaratLane is evaluating Australia and the UK as potential markets for international expansion after gaining traction in the US, according to a report by ET Retail. The Tata Group-backed jewellery retailer currently operates stores in New Jersey and Texas.

The company has been assessing overseas opportunities as part of its broader growth strategy, with the US emerging as an important market. CaratLane opened its second US store in Frisco, Texas, earlier this year, adding to its presence in New Jersey.

The retailer’s international strategy comes alongside continued expansion in India. CaratLane currently operates more than 388 stores nationally and plans to add 40–50 stores during FY27. It also plans to open five to seven outlets across eastern India over the coming months.

CaratLane reported 42% growth in the first quarter of FY27, while its buyer base increased 28%. The company has identified international markets as an additional growth avenue while continuing to expand its domestic retail network.

The retailer’s overseas expansion follows its evolution from an online jewellery business into an omnichannel retailer, with its international operations currently spanning the US. Its next market entries will depend on the performance of existing overseas stores and the potential for demand in markets such as Australia and the UK.
