Louis Selekane, the CEO of the South African Diamond and Precious Metals Regulator (SADPMR), passed away on Sunday in a car accident, while traveling home to Midrand. “ Louis made a significant contribution to the development of both the diamond and jewellery industries and will be deeply missed,” said Ernie Blom, chairman of the Diamond Council and Diamond Dealers Club of South Africa. “He was a friend to all; his willingness to assist where necessary was legendary as well as his friendly disposition. The void he left behind will be difficult to fill.”
