The All India Gems and Jewellery Trade Federation (GJF) has introduced an SMS facility, to recieve gold price for hallmarkled jewellery. The latest 22 karat gold price can be retrieved by sending an sms - ‘GOLDRATE’ to 575758.%% The SMS facility is yet to be recognised by the Ministry of Commerce, reports say. Such an initiative will help boost consumer confidence of knowledge being available at one’s fingertips, and also keep a check on the quality of gold jewellery sales, to ensure a standard is maintained in the market.
