Japan’s polished diamond imports increased by 38.4 percent in November on the year, to amount to 168,585 carats. Polished imports decreased by 5.7 percent in value terms to $52.4 million, reports say. The country’s average value of imports amounted to $310.84 per carat, dipping by 31.8 percent. %% Between January-November 2009, the country’s polished diamond imports amounted to 2 million carats which was worth $575.9 million and an average price of $287.61 per carat, reports say.
