The Indian gem and jewellery industry is optimistic that large number of foreign nationals expected to visit during the 19th Commonwealth Games (CWG) slated in Delhi, between October 3-14 this year, will invite good demand for diamond and gold jewellery, reports say. They have pinned hopes of around 15-20 percent growth from this, reports say. %% The industry believes the games will add to their ‘already optimistic’ outlook of the festive season (which will unfold with Dhanteras, Diwali and the wedding festivities) based on consumer optimism in the retail market. Despite the volatile gold prices, the industry is hopeful of good demand for gold jewellery. %% India is hosting the CWG for the very first time, and will see 72 nations participating. %%
