With a focus on increasing its laboratory base across India by year-end, EGL (European Gemological Laboratory) will open a diamond certifying laboratory in Ahmedabad, in the state of Gujarat on January 26, 2011. Gujarat has seen good demand for diamond jewellery and rise in consumer awareness, which makes diamond certification important. %% EGL also plans to rollout mobile laboratory for diamond certification across Gujarat, to reach out to clients in distant places in Gujarat, hence working at expanding its client base in the state. This will be the sixth EGL laboratory in India, including existing five labs New Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore and Mumbai. %% Besides offering diamond certification at its new facility in Ahemdabad, EGL has tied-up with Forever Jewellery, a part of the Su-Raj diamond group to hold diamond authentication workshops in Ahmedabad early this month. The focus of the workshop will lay on necessity of certification in diamond jewellery. %% EGL is a global leading diamond and precious stones grading and certification agency.
