Minwala’s latest showroom at Turner Road, Bandra in Mumbai gave glittering diamonds a new fashionable abode. Known for their exclusive, one-of-a-kind designs, the brand Minawala is a result of sheer hard work and dedication to the art of jewellery. Their latest two-storied showroom is meant to cater to an array of design centric minds. They create jewellery that can transform a person. Kavita Parab explored further the brand and their new store.%% Pure luxury thy name, Minawala! Shehzad Zaveri, the creative force behind the high-end jewellery brand thinks, “Jewellery is a means of communication for a woman.” Minawala designs jewellery for modern brides, working women who need jewels that highlight their traditions with their assertive modern personalities. He further adds, “When we create for her, we balance the product designs, giving age-old traditional techniques, a modern twist.” %% After being in the jewellery business for 3 consecutive generations, Minawala has established itself as a high-end jewellery brand, by designing innovative collections that bring out the charisma of colors inherent in precious-semiprecious stones and fiery diamonds. Since, Minawala first set shop in 1985 in the Heera Panna Arcade; it has been an eventful journey full of accolades for their ability to deliver jewellery par excellence. %% At the age of 17 while helping out his mother for selling door-to-door jewellery, little did Shehzad Zaveri knew that few years down the line he would be dealing in diamonds. The Minawala store opened its doors in 1993 in the Heera Panna Arcade in Mumbai. When quipped about the USP of the brand, Shehzad Zaveri said, “Each of the stores has different collection catering to different audiences. Everything at our stores is conceptualized and crafted in-house which is the USP of our brand and that is reflected in all our stores. The entire range of jewellery is one-of-a-kind and signature. Even the concept of having rooftop lounge in the showroom had us amused. The lounge is located on the exclusive zone at Level 1 which is specially made for the Minawala patrons. The lounge area in the open with well furnished seating can be used by the clients for their kitty parties, events or just to catch up with their friends over food & beverages. This is also a good place for the customer to sit back and relax, make up their mind while purchase. Shehzad Zaveri added on the lounge area, “We wanted to make jewellery buying not a process but an experience. We wanted our clients to sit, relax before they made their decision to make that expensive purchase.” %% The craft gets its shape at Minawala’s factory spread over 4,000 sq feet area in Mumbai. Ably supported by skilled craftsmen, the factory makes bespoke jewellery pieces.
