The dignitaries shared their expertise and said that there are two types of manmade diamonds, High Pressure High Temperature (HPHT) and Chemical Vapour Deposition (CVD). The difference between man-made and natural diamond is not noticeable from the naked eye of a person. It can only be done in laboratories through CVD testing machines.

It takes 3-15 hours to produce a synthetic diamond in lab whereas a natural diamond grows 150 KMs deep in the earth and takes over a million years long to form. Natural diamonds give 15-150% return on investment and lab grown diamonds has zero resale value.

FICCI FLO (FICCI Ladies Organisation) is the women wing of the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry, was established in 1983 as an All India Organisation for woman. They organize 14 chapters pan India promoting entrepreneurship and professional excellence among women through workshops, seminars, conferences, training and capacity building programmes etc.

While expressing his views about the topic, Shreyansh Kapoor, Vice President, Kashi Jewellers said, “I feel honoured to be a part of the panel discussion here at FICCI FLO Lucknow-Kanpur Chapter. It is very important to educate women about synthetic diamonds as women are the largest consumer of diamond and diamond jewellery. While buying natural diamonds, buyers should make sure that they have received International certificate as GIA, IGI or HRD stating that the bought diamond is natural. I really appreciate the initiative by FICCI FLO to educate women through such events.”
