In a landmark move to expand India’s gem and jewellery exports, the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), with support from the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, has announced the launch of SAJEX – The Saudi Arabia Jewellery Exposition, the first-ever dedicated B2B gem and jewellery fair in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The curtain-raiser events, held in Jeddah on July 6 and Riyadh on July 8, garnered enthusiastic participation from over 280 key stakeholders, including top Saudi retailers, manufacturers, and wholesalers. The initiative positions Saudi Arabia—whose jewellery market is projected to nearly double from USD 4.56 billion in 2024 to USD 8.34 billion by 2030—as a vital new frontier for Indian jewellery exports.
Scheduled to take place from September 11–13, 2025, at the Jeddah Superdome, SAJEX is envisioned as a global trade platform and a catalyst for long-term partnerships in the luxury segment. The exposition will feature over 200 exhibitors from India, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Turkey, Hong Kong, and Lebanon across 250+ booths, attracting more than 2,000 international trade buyers.
Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan, Ambassador of India to Saudi Arabia, underscored the strategic value of SAJEX, calling it “a celebration of India’s design excellence and a gateway to deeper commercial cooperation aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.”
Fahad Ahmed Khan Suri, Consul General of India in Jeddah, described SAJEX as “a symbol of the growing partnership between India and Saudi Arabia,” highlighting the event’s potential to foster a collaborative ecosystem built on shared cultural and commercial values.
Kirit Bhansali, Chairman of GJEPC, stated, “SAJEX is a proactive step toward tapping high-growth markets like Saudi Arabia. With its dynamic retail landscape and appetite for design-led gold and diamond jewellery, the Kingdom presents an exciting opportunity for Indian manufacturers. This event marks the beginning of a deeper journey between two strong economies.”
In addition to the exhibition, the event will feature curated knowledge sessions, a Design Atelier, networking forums, and the World Jewellery Investment Forum—a joint initiative by GJEPC and the Ministry of Investment of Saudi Arabia aimed at exploring strategic opportunities across the jewellery value chain.
