Uniform Object has introduced CARBON FORM, a new jewellery collection developed since Summer 2024, combining carbon-based materials, 18-karat gold and gemstones, targeting contrast-driven design across global retail channels.
Uniform Object has launched CARBON FORM, a new jewellery collection exploring carbon as both a medium and material, with a focus on durability and material contrast.
The collection is structured around two design directions. One combines Italian-made elastic cords with 18-karat gold hardware and natural gemstones, while the other focuses on solid gold forms with significant weight.
The Carbon Bracelet represents this approach, featuring carbon-based materials paired with rare diamonds set against a rubber cord. One design is based on a 3.71-carat novelty-cut pear diamond in 18-karat rose gold with black rhodium plating.
“I have been working on using this elastic cord material since the Summer of 2024. I have always loved the idea of pairing very important stones with a material that felt industrial and casual. Through much trial and error, we found the perfect balance of substance and statement,” said David Farrugia of Uniform Object.
The collection also includes the Power Metal line, comprising rings, earrings, necklaces and bracelets in 18-karat gold. The Power Metal Necklace starts at 80 grams in a 14-inch chain.
Black rhodium plating is used across the collection to alter light interaction and enhance gemstone colour. This is visible in pieces such as a 3-carat champagne shield diamond pendant and a 2.66-carat Mozambique Paraíba tourmaline pendant.
“I have always been fascinated with this type of treatment… when I saw the opportunity for blackened gold to enhance the colour of a coloured diamond, I knew we discovered something new,” Farrugia added.
The collection also features a Chain Ring set with a 4.51-carat oval-cut fancy light brown-yellow diamond.
Uniform Object, founded in 2021, distributes through retailers including Net-a-Porter, Elyse Walker, Bergdorf Goodman and Hirshleifers.
