De Beers Group has created a bespoke 21-carat natural diamond pendant and chain for cricketer Suryakumar Yadav, highlighting the growing positioning of men’s diamond jewellery within the Indian market.
De Beers Group has introduced a customized natural diamond jewellery creation for Indian cricketer Suryakumar Yadav, centred around a cricket-inspired “powerplay pendant” paired with a diamond-set chain. The launch comes as the company looks to address the evolving men’s jewellery segment in India, where natural diamonds are increasingly being associated with self-expression and identity-led styling.
Crafted in 18kt white gold, the pendant incorporates cricket-inspired design elements, including a sculptural bat motif and a solitaire representing a cricket ball. The design also features pavé-set surfaces, brushed gold detailing, and a combination of princess, baguette and custom triangular-cut natural diamonds. According to De Beers Group, the entire creation includes 1,848 natural diamonds. The pendant contains approximately 9 carats of natural diamonds, while the complete pendant-and-chain set totals 21 carats.
The accompanying “constellation chain” comprises more than 400 handcrafted links set with natural diamonds. The company stated that the design narrative focused on precision, movement and contemporary masculinity. Commenting on the creation, Suryakumar Yadav said, “The powerplay pendant is special to me. It reflects my journey and identity on the field in a deeply personal way. What the De Beers team has created is more than just jewellery. It is a piece of my story, crafted with a precision and intention that I deeply connect with.”
The collaboration reflects the increasing visibility of men’s diamond jewellery within India’s fine jewellery segment, particularly through bespoke and statement-led designs linked to sport, lifestyle and individuality.
