VBJ, Vummidi Bangaru Jewellers has introduced the Parro jewellery collection in Chennai on June 22, drawing inspiration from the parrot motif and combining gold, diamonds, gemstones and enamel with heritage craftsmanship.
VBJ, Vummidi Bangaru Jewellers has unveiled Parro – The Signature Parrot Collection, a new jewellery line inspired by the parrot motif and designed using gold, diamonds, coloured gemstones and enamel. The collection was announced in Chennai on June 22.
According to the company, the collection draws on the symbolism of the parrot across cultures, where it is associated with prosperity, love, intelligence and freedom. The range includes necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings featuring sculptural interpretations of the bird.
Amarendran Vummidi at VBJ said, “For generations, jewellery has been inspired by nature, but Parro goes beyond simply recreating its beauty. It captures the spirit of a creature that represents intelligence, companionship and joy across Indian traditions. At VBJ, every collection begins with a story, and Parro is our interpretation of how heritage can evolve into contemporary design while remaining deeply rooted in craftsmanship. These are pieces that invite conversation, emotion and individuality.”
Jithendra Vummidi of VBJ said, “Every jewellery purchase is deeply personal. It marks a memory, celebrates a milestone or simply reflects an individual's unique style. With Parro, we wanted to create a collection that offers customers something truly distinctive: pieces that are versatile and timeless. Whether it's a statement for a celebration or an elegant everyday companion, Parro allows every wearer to embrace jewellery that feels as expressive and individual as they are.”
The company stated that the collection was conceptualized at its in-house Creative Centre. Anupam Karmakar at VBJ and WorldSkills Expert, said, “The journey from the familiar ‘kili’ motif to Parro was one of our most exciting creative challenges. Our vision was not to recreate the bird as it is, but to reinterpret its grace, personality and vibrant spirit into a contemporary design language that resonates with today’s wearer. Working closely with Ahalya, our Senior Executive Designer, we explored fluid forms, refined proportions and intricate detailing to strike the perfect balance between tradition and modernity. Every curve, gemstone placement and enamel accent has been thoughtfully composed so that each piece feels expressive yet timeless.”
VBJ also noted that it is preparing to open its largest jewellery showroom on Coimbatore’s 100ft Road, while continuing to build on its legacy as a fifth-generation family-run jewellery business.
