Piyush Goyal, Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, unveiled Malabar Gold & Diamonds’ Rs 200 crore CSR programme for FY 2026–27 at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi, on March 25, 2026.

At the event, the minister inaugurated the distribution of scholarships to 33,000 girl students across India. The programme forms part of the group’s broader CSR initiatives implemented through the Malabar Charitable Trust.

Goyal stated that the initiatives align with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of women’s empowerment under programmes such as 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao.' He said the Rs 200 crore allocation would support national development through education and social welfare.

He added that “Malabar Gold & Diamonds’ decision to allocate Rs 200 crore towards CSR will further strengthen the nation’s progress,” emphasizing the role of women and youth in India’s growth. He also encouraged students to “dream big, aspire beyond limitations, and seize the vast opportunities India offers.”

Malabar Group's M.P. Ahammad said, “Human resource development is the backbone of national growth,” adding that the scholarship programme supports academic progress and long-term societal impact.

For FY27, CSR projects will be implemented across more than 3,000 locations in 19 states, covering 15 initiatives and expected to benefit over 2 lakh people.

Education remains a key focus, with Rs 114 crore allocated to scholarships and micro-learning centres for street children. Healthcare initiatives will receive Rs 14.2 crore, while Rs 30 crore is earmarked for food distribution under the Hunger Free World project. Housing projects, including the ‘Grandma Home’ initiative, will receive Rs 25 crore. Environmental protection and other activities will receive Rs 10 crore and Rs 6.8 crore respectively.

The company has established 1,543 micro-learning centres across 17 states in partnership with Pratham Education Foundation, with plans to expand to 2,500 centres and increase enrolment to 1 lakh students.

Malabar stated that its CSR initiatives, funded through 5% of net trading profit, have impacted over 1.8 million people to date across India.
